Are your tires putting you in danger?

Many vehicle owners overlook the condition of their tires when they are checking to see if their vehicle is ready to drive. We all know that having tires in good working condition is important, but how do we know when it is time to replace them?

The answer is that it is time to replace your tires when the tread depth reaches 4/32 of an inch. This sounds technical, but don't worry! You can check this yourself quite easily. First get a quarter. The top of Washington's head is 4/32 of an inch from the top of the quarter. Insert the quarter into your tread head-first. If the top of Washington's head is visible, it is time to replace your tires. Simple as that!

Luckily you don't have to go to the trouble of testing your tread depth yourself, take it to the professional at Sheehy Ford of Richmond!
